Ooh, I'm really digging your first image! I think those are inverted colors I'm spotting. It's working really well with the colors you add around it.

I like the blur and color pallet, it almost feels like going with your friends to a fun party, or maybe a more heartfelt conversation outside the party? That's the sort of vibe/concept i get from that image but the composition is great. Awesome work!
